Hey Amy &/or Matt, Karen and I were wondering if y'all want to do meals like we did in Branson . . .in other words, each family does one meal a day (breakfast or supper). We will need six meals (on arrival day, Fri. July 31 we will probably all eat out?). Or maybe five (eat out on checkout day also--Aug. 7?) That would work well, I think, because there are five families who can do that (M&A, M&K, C&W, T&K, L&V). What think you?
We are fine with everyone cooking one meal - either Breakfast or supper (their choice). We count Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed. as 5 days - Thurs would be day 6. Check-out is by 10 am on Friday Aug. 7th. People will need breakfast - but I'm sure all will be leaving at different times for different reasons.
On the meals that we are not cooking together - should we then have families eat together? (Dev, Alex and Daniel find their families to eat with but come and sleep with us?) And same for Joe - he will come and eat with Matt and me.
That way if a family wants to go and do something with their family - they don't have to worry about feeding the other people in their condo. Or if they just want to have a quick sandwich and get back into the water they can.
People can still put food together and share - I am not saying they can't do that.
Did this make any sense? (just be glad I didn't say a quarter note counts 1, a half-note counts 2 etc)
Taking care of one meal sounds good to me. We can probably work out the details of the other daily meals on a daily basis depending on the activities of the day.
I'm fixin to kick pack and relax at one of the 6 waterparks at the resort as much as possible - hopefully one of the 3 outdoor ones or at least the indoor one that has that big sundome.
For now I'd better get back to the quarter notes, half-notes and eighth notes.
I meant that we may do a meal out on the last night of our stay there--which would be August 6, right? I am so confused! Anyway, we could have a meeting maybe on Saturday when everyone is there and divvy up the days/meals. I will be bringing along the CABIN box of "stuff"; we will use some stuff; the rest will go home with whomever wants it. Love, Mom/Viv
Please don't be confused. Matt said I confused people with too many words. Friday 31st when most of us there-figure out S,S,M,T,W - 5 fams-5meals TH - we'll figure out Fr - the 7th checkout day
other meals by clans or however the group decides - I am not good at this.
To make it easy on everyone - Matt and I will take breakfast on Saturday the 1st - (sorry Chris and Wendi, I know you won't be there yet).
Hey, Amy, what you said sounds fine. It was I who confused me, not you. Anyway, how about we have a meal powwow when everyone is there on Saturday, unless folks sign up ahead of time for their day like you did.
Hi All, I hope you all get this note . . .I am planning to bring along two Red Cakes (I will bake them here and freeze them); then when we arrive, I will frost them differently: one with the traditional Red Cake frosting that we know and love; the other with a newer cream cheese recipe that we used in Bemidji with the Red Cake cupcakes. Hope that is all right with y'all! Love, Viv
Hey, It's fine with me. I was going to make red cake into cupcakes and frost and bring along - but you may have the honor. (I thought cupcakes would travel better).
I too was going to make a red cake and bring it along, but since Viv is going to make two, I will let her do that. I have made some brownies and banana bread for each group.
Alex will be coming with us, but Amanda will probably be working on the weekend, so she will come up with Mari and Bill, who plan to join us all on Wednesday and Thursday. Mari and Bill would be willing to fix a meal as well, and if anyone is interested, they would do a salmon meal.
As far as who eats where and when, I think that can be decided on a "daily" basis depending on what each family (or group) is planning for that day. I would be more than happy to feed Tom E and his crew (Aaron and Joe) whenever they want.
I have been checking on the web for some things to see and do in the area (besides lots of swimming and water activities). I will make a list below:
There are three state parks nearby -- Rocky Arbor which has a 1-mile self guided trail, Mirror Lake with no trails and Devil's Lake which trails and swimming, etc. These parks require a vehicle sticker. For non-residents it is $35 for annual and $10 per day. We will be purchasing an annual pass (WI seniors get it for $10).
Lost Canyon is a 1/2 hour horse drawn carriage ride through a spectacular canyon (Adults $8.75 and kids 4-11 $5.00)
Dells boat tours are rather pricey -- Upper Dells $23 for adults and $11.50 for kids -- Lower Dells $16.75 for adults and $9.25 per child. The Ducks which is a similar ride is $24.95 per adult and $12.95 for kids 6-11
The reviews for Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum were not very good so I didn't do anything furhter with that.
Circus World Museum is in Baraboo (not far from the Dells) and is $14.95 for adults, $12.95 for seniors and $7.95 for kids. There are different programs presented almost continually during the day. It's a neat place.
Storybook Gardens AND Timbavati Wildlife Park (two for one) With Adults at $11.95 and Kids 2-12 at $9.95 There are wildlife shows and a train. The website looked pretty nice.

We will be arriving on Saturday, since I do not get out of work on Friday until 3. We are game to pick a day to cook.

Everything looks good to me.
They have a super Wally there for Groceries FYI.
